You’re Covered, You’ve Got a Multivitamin

Raise your hand if you try to eat a well-balanced, nutritious diet.

Okay, now raise your hand if you find it difficult to eat a well-balanced, nutritious diet. (For those of you who didn’t raise your hand, we want to know your secret!)

We get it. It’s not always easy to get the wide range of healthy foods we strive to eat every day. And even when eating a well-balanced diet full of fruits and vegetables, it may still be difficult to get all of the vitamins and nutrients we need from food alone. When you combine this with the fact that sometimes we don’t always get to eat as healthy as we’d like (donuts happen, folks), it’s easy to understand why some people need a little help to get the key vitamins and minerals found in nutritious foods. Without these nutrients, our bodies would be at a loss. These nutrients provide our body with what it needs to help it operate as intended; muscle and nerve function, bone density maintenance, heart health, immune system health, and much more.

To help you understand the amount of nutrients your body needs each day, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) creates recommendations based on a 2,000 calorie diet. These recommendations are known as daily values, and are shown on the supplement facts label as % DV. The % DV shows how much one serving of that supplement contributes towards reaching the daily value for that nutrient. The goal set by the FDA can be achieved with relative ease when choosing the right multivitamin.

The next time you’re cruising through the multivitamin section, flip each package over and read the label (we’d love if you gave ours a glance). We have specialized formulas for all adults, and more specialized multivitamins for women, men, kids, adults over 50 and specific needs and life stages. Looking for something that delivers nutrients at 100% DV is a great start in determining which “dietary insurance policy” is best for you.
